Back in the swing of things

I have been trying to get back into workout mode lately and recently joined the gym with a friend of mine from school. It is nice to get moving again. I took 2 1/2 months off from doing anything, not recommmened, but I am back in the game. I am playing basketball once a week and at the gym 5 days a week (most weeks). Ethan came and watched me play basketball tonight, and I haven't played since hoopfest so I am a little rusty. His comment was, "You haven't scored any points!!" It is always good to have Ethan's support! :)

Iggle Piggle

Elijah, "Where is Iggle Piggle?"
he is trying to velcro his blanket back on,

still trying, now the other hand...

he finally get's it on! Iggle Piggle loves his blanket! (he actually says that when you give the blanket back to him)
A hug

Iggle Piggle is a unique gift Eli got for christmas from Grandma Florko. I am just learning the whole story behind this interesting creature. The show begins at night time with a small child (different for every show) about to go to sleep. Their parent strokes their hand and so the show begins. They are told to imagine a boat the size of their hand and it cuts to Iggle Piggle alone at sea. He then travels to the Night Garden to go on adventures with all his friends.
I found a clip on You Tube, if you want to check it out.
Thank you Grandma Florko

I don't know when I last took a picture of me, my mom, and sister? There were plenty when I was little, those cheesy ones that your parents make you pose for.....here are a few examples below. Well there will be no examples since I can't find any that aren't already secured to my scrapbook album. I will keep looking. Here is a recent picture of just us girls. I was definitely a lot cuter when I was younger.

Eli with his red boots, Elmo, and his new hockey net

I am never bored when it is just me and Elijah, this was our adventure the other night.......
Eating the hockey stick
trying to get Elmo to dance again

showing me his new net he got for christmas

carrying Elmo around the living room

Elijah just wanted to wear his red boots the other night and it turned into quite a show. He was running around with them on, and then decided to dance with Elmo for awhile before deciding to play hockey with Elmo. It was pretty funny to watch becasue he would take a shot and then dance with Elmo, and then hit the ball with his stick. This kept both of us very entertained for about an hour.

Moose Crossing

We saw some moose in the neighborhood this weekend so Elijah and I grabbed the camera and went to watch them. Elijah loved seeing them and kept shouting MOOSE, MOOSE really loud while we were watching them. He didn't want to leave, but I finally got him in the car when they walked away. He stands out the window now and says MOOSE still looking for them a day later.
Chris didn't get to see the moose since he was at hockey, but on the way home the moose ran right in front of his car on Welligton Drive so he got to see them up close and personal.

I posted a little slideshow of our trip to the Denver Zoo over christmas....down below

I am wondering if my 9 year old is ever going to smile in a picture again. I just went through all our pictures from Christmas and he didn't smile once. I was not very happy!! As you can see from our picture above, their is just a sad looking serious face in every shot. I don't know if this is a boy thing, hockey thing or just plain stubbornness. Hopefully it is just a phase or else my blog is going to look pretty depressing with Ethan on it.

I found a smile :) September 2008 the first day of school

Flying High in Colorado

We were finally able to go to Denver this year for Christmas and after a huge snowfall, 2 snowdays for school and delayed flights and canellation, we made it to Denver on December 24th. When we got here I couldn't believe my eyes, NO SNOW which is a huge change from the 24 inches we left behind in Spokane. The weather was a cool 50 degrees and sunny. I couldn't ask for better weather in December.

My mom got Ethan a pass to go indoor sky diving for Christmas and it turned out to be the coolest thing ever. There are only 4 indoor windtunnels in the USA so this was an exciting opportunity for him. We got there early so Ethan could watch for about 30 minutes while we waited for our turn. He got a little apprehensive as his turn got closer, but he suited up and had a quick lesson on how to hold your body position with some hand signals from the instructor and then he was off. Here is a video of his final time going with instructor high up into the tunnel!!

Snow Day

We had a snow day today which was bitersweet, I really needed a day to catch up on house work and get ready for our trip, but I ended up spending a lot of my morning dealing with the snow outside.I also didn't bring anything with me from school, and didn't put anything away totally expecting to be there Thursday and Friday. Sadly, Ethan's school performance was cancelled and we will have to wait to see our drama performance, and we don't get to exchange gift or have our Friday brunch. Sad Sad..

Ethan loved it and was up early ready to go out.

I took Elijah out in the afternoon after his nap and here are some of my neighbors hard at work clearing the snow. They are so nice to help out~~

I asked Elijah where the snow was and he got some on his glove and tasted it.

He of course had to get Ethan's hockey stick out and smack the ball a few times before going to look for Ethan up the hill.

Elijah's face as we are walking up to watch Ethan sled, Priceless!

Three boys in one room

Here is what happens when three boys start horsing around in one room, they always end up wrestling or hurting each other. Eli joined in on the fun this time and it was pretty funny.

Christmas Party

I went to my first work Christmas party last night at McGlades and it was a lot of fun. I went with a coworker since my husband was at another Hockey Tournament. I had a great time with everyone until the staff at McGlades decided to play a little game to see who could name the gifts for the 12 days of Christmas. We all wrote our guesses on paper and then they drew names. I never win anything but tonight of course my name gets drawn and for a super fun twist, they said the winner had to sing the song. It was awful, but I got threw it except that I sang the song backwards because I was so nervous. At least I got a free pie out of the deal.

Merry Christmas!!

Go Chiefs Go!!

Elijah calls him "Moo-mer", we have got to work on those B's.

Elijah saw Boomer for the first time tonight and couldn't take his eyes off of him, it was so funny. We ran into him when we went out at intermission and he wasn't too sure about him up close.

Tried to take a family picture, but Ethan was mad about not getting a pretzel so just the three of us.

Boomer dancing on the ice

I have had the past 5 days to catch up on my blog and it has been wonderful, but tomorrow I will be back to work so I thought I would try to post one more thing before the chaos begins again.

We went to the chiefs game last night and Elijah had a great time dancing and clapping to the music. He didn't want to sit still of course, but he had fun. One of our friends is a referee and tossed a puck into the crowd and Chris caught it. Elijah wanted to hold it and of course it was wet from the ice so he kept trying to lick it and I did a great job of not letting him of course till I turned around to take a picture and he got it in his mouth. Oh well.

First Snow ....

Snow Snow Snow....I really don't love the snow, but the boys sure do. As soon as it started falling they couldn't get their snowsuits on fast enough. It was the first time Elijah really has been out playing in the snow, last year he wasn't walking so we just watched it out the window. This was also our dog Browney's first adventure in the snow. They had a great hour outside and here are some pictures of all the fun...

Ethan and his friend trying to sled down the hill

Elijah driving his truck all over the road making some good tracks

Heading out to the street, "Elijah please stop"

There is no stopping him

We tried to see if anyone wanted to play with us so we made the long journey up to Reegans house(three houses away). Along the way we spotted a snowman at the neighbors house and tried to destroy it,

we got tired along the way and wanted to be picked up,but

we kept on going till we made it over there.
Reegan wasn't feeling good so we ended up going home and playing with Browney. We had a lot of fun and can't wait for another snow day!!
