Fun on a big shoe

When we went to Papa's last weekend for a wedding and we found the big shoe that Chris had as a kid and started trying to ride it. We are not very good yet, but we are starting to get the idea.

Fun at Riverfront Park

We finally took Eli down to Riverfront park and fed the ducks. It was definitely a new experience for him, but he loved it. He didn't seem as excited as I had anticipated, he was pretty nervous and cautious of the geese the whole time we were there. Here are some pictures of the boys...

Getting Ready for Fall

Elijah recieved some new clothes from our friends this weekend and got a kick out of the new gloves. He kept shaking his hands trying to get them off, it was pretty funny. We added some glasses at the end since it is so hot here today!!

Training

It's hard to believe we are in August once again, summer flew by so fast. Ethan is finishing up this week with a hockey camp in Trail, he is having a lot of fun. They have skating drills in the morning and then they have a fun session that includes floor hockey, swimming and baseball games. He ends with another skating session in the afternoon so he is getting alot of practice time. He will be finished on Saturday and we will go up and watch his final game.

Soccer starts in about three weeks and we finally get to play on the big field. There will be a lot of changes to the game this year, and we have added three new players to the team. This team has been together for 4 years and I am excited for another great season to come.

So I have been training for the Spokane Half Marathon coming up October 12th. We are running 4 days a week increasing our distances each week. It is getting easier each week. I still can't believe I am doing this, but I am very excited that I have committed to it and I am going to go through with it. I will post some pictures of our hard work soon.

Summer Recap

Since I am starting this at the end of the summer I will try my best to recap all the exciting events of the summer with a little slide show to finish it off.

June-Ethan turned 9 on June 10th and got a puppy for his birthday (although we got her a couple months earlier) her name is Brownie and she is a Pomeranian, Shi zu mix, but she looks more Pomeranian. Ethan also got a hair cut which was very traumatic since he loves his long hockey hair. School also ended in June and we started our summer vacation. Grandma Gimmeson came out at the end of June and spent a week visiting. We had a great time with her and she helped with some much needed decorating in our house. The last week of June we save for Hoopfest of course. Ethan and I both played and both teams placed third in our divisions! We had a great time even though we had to compete in record temperatures reaching 98 degrees.

July-Elijah and I both have July birthdays, along with my brother Jack and sister Kamry so July is always a busy month in our family. Elijah turned one on July 12th and loved his balloons he got, but didn't get as messy with the cake as I thought he would. I turned 30 on July 17th, a big birthday for me, but it motivated me to become more active with running and working out. Ethan did swimming lesson in July and is almost finished with all the levels. Chris played baseball yet again this summer with the Trail Orioles. They had a pretty good year and ended up being the BC Champions in their division for the first time since 1991. They are heading to Nova Scotia for Nationals which is on the east coast of Canada above Maine.

Aug-Summer is winding down and I can't believe it is almost over. We are enjoying the nice weather trying to play outside as much as possible. Elijah loves to be outside and walk into the street of course and play with all the neighborhood kids. Ethan will be going to hockey school all next week and Chris will be finishing up baseball with one more tournament in Grand Forks. I am still job hunting, crossing my fingers a position will open up for me to teach this year, if not it will be another yeat of subbing.

I will continue to update this blog month or as exciting events happen in our lives. Please check back with us as often as you can.
